Old-fashioned Sally Lunn Muffins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup milk

Recipe

  • in a medium bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • in a separate bowl cream together the shortening and sugar. stir in beaten egg, and milk.
  • add flour mixture alternately with liquid mixture.
  • fill greased muffin tins two-thirds of the way full. bake in a preheated 375 degree f(190 degrees c) oven for 30 minutes.
