Grilled Venison Steak

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 1/2 cups vinegar
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 5 peppercorns
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped celery
  • 1/4 teaspoon whole allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 medium carrot, finely chopped
  • 6 venison steak
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 for the marinade: combine all ingredients in a saucepan.
  • 2 heat mixture to boiling over high heat; reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for about 30 minutes.
  • 3 set aside to cool completely.
  • 4 cover and store in refrigerator until ready to use.
  • 5 marinate game in refrigerator before bbq'ing.
  • 6 to cook venison, place on a lightly greased, preheated bbq grill and broil 7 to 10 minutes per side.
  • 7 season to taste and serve.
