Oma's Green Bean Stew

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 2 1/2 lbs lean stewing beef
- 2 1/2 lbs fresh green beans
- 5 -6 large potatoes
- 1 large onion
- 1 celery rib
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon cracked pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- kosher salt
- 1/2 gallon beef stock
Recipe
- 1 brown stew beef on all sides till nicely browned. (sometimes i use bottom round and cute my own cubes) place meat and pan drippings in an 5 to 8 quart crock pot. add all ingredients ( cubed potatoes, ends snapped off gr. beans and snapped into bite sizes,) cover with beef stock.(i use beef base and make stock as i need it.) cover and cook on high till meat is fork tender.
- 2 you can add the potatoes about three to four hours after you start your crock pot, this way the potatoes don't cook away.
