Gothampu Ada (special Wheat Pancake)

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 cups wheat flour or 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 6 shallots (tender onions)
  • 2 teaspoons cumin seeds
  • 3 curry leaves
  • 4 green chilies
  • salt, to taste
  • 4 tablespoons coconut flakes (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil or 3 tablespoons butter

Recipe

  • 1 crush baby onions, cumin seed, curry leaves,green chillies and coconut flakes together.
  • 2 mix the above with the flour and add salt to taste.
  • 3 add enough water and make dough of consistency that of cake batter.
  • 4 grease the heated pan with a little oil/butter.
  • 5 make pancake out of a laddleful of batter.
  • 6 after sometime, spread a little oil/butter on the top.
  • 7 make upside down.
  • 8 wait till done.
  • 9 now, repeat the steps 5 through 9 till the batter is over.
