Red Cabbage With Apples

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 tart apples, cored, cut in half and sliced
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium head red cabbage, coarsely shredded
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  • 1 in a large pot or a dutch oven, saute apples in butter for 5 minutes. add all of the other ingredients.
  • 2 , bring to a boil, reduce heat. cover and simmer until cabbage is tender, 35-40 minutes.
