Easy, Quick And Tasty Basic Beans (crockpot)

Total Time: 8 hrs 5 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 8 hrs

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pinto beans (or black beans)
  • 3 tablespoons salt
  • 3 garlic cloves, whole but smashed
  • 1/2 onion

Recipe

  • 1 rinse the beans in a colander.
  • 2 pour beans into the crock pot and cover with water. allow the beans to soak a few hours or overnight. note: if you are short on time the beans do not have to be soaked but i think that it helps with the cooking.
  • 3 add salt, garlic and onion.
  • 4 add any water necessary to fill the crock pot.
  • 5 cover and cook on low 8 hours or on high 4-5 hours.
  • 6 eat and enjoy.
  • 7 will make approx 12 cups of beans (24 1/2 cup servings).
