Five-ingredient Chicken

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1/4 cup dijon mustard
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2/3 cup maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons rubbed sage or 2 teaspoons ground sage
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 6 -8 chicken thighs or 6 -8 chicken drumsticks, skin removed
  • salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 425 degrees f. combine the mustard and water. set aside.
  • 2 line a 8" x 8" baking dish with foil.
  • 3 in a small sauce pan over medium heat, mix together the mustard mixture, maple syrup, sage and curry powder. heat and stir until sage and curry are well blended.
  • 4 sprinkle chicken pieces with salt an ground pepper. place in foil lines dish. pour sauce over chicken pieces and turn to coat; snuggle the foil around the chicken so that the chicken pieces are a bit crowded together. i find that 6 thigh fit well in the 8" x 8" dish.
  • 5 bake uncovered, and basting every 10-15 minutes for about 40 minutes or til golden brown. the basting is very important to achieve the proper flavor.
