Dressed Up Black Beans

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 15 ounces black beans, not drained (1 can)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin, chili powder or 1/2 teaspoon a few shakes red pepper flakes

Recipe

  • 1 heat the oil in a frying pan while you peel and slice the onion. cook the onion very slowly until brown and caramelized.
  • 2 add the beans and the flavorings of your choice.
  • 3 simmer until the liquid is mostly evaporated.
