Juicy Apple Chicken

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (about 1 1/4 pounds total)
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 medium onion, halved and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup 100% apple juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • apple, slices (optional)
  • fresh thyme leave (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 season chicken with salt and ground black pepper, if desired.
  • 2 dust with flour.
  • 3 melt butter in large, nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  • 4 add chicken and cook on one side until golden brown.
  • 5 turn chicken over and push to side of skillet, stirring in onion, apple juice and garlic.
  • 6 bring to a boil.
  • 7 reduce heat to medium-low, cover and cook for 7 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink in center.
  • 8 remove chicken from skillet and place on serving platter.
  • 9 increase heat to high, cook onion, stirring frequently, for an additional 1 to 2 minutes or until lightly browned and juice has reduced.
  • 10 serve over chicken.
  • 11 garnish with apple slices and sprinkle with thyme leaves.
