Oat Bran Date Bread

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oat bran
  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 1/3 cup non-fat powdered milk
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 3/4 cup hot water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup egg substitute
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven 350 degrees f.
  • 2 spray 9x5x3 inch loaf pan with pan spray.
  • 3 mix oat bran, dates,dry milk, molasses, hot water, butter and egg substitute in large bowl; stir in remaining ingredients.
  • 4 spread into prepared pan, bake 30-40 minutes; until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • 5 cool 5 minutes, loosen sides; remove from pan let cool completely before slicing.
