Hungarian Beef Goulash

Total Time: 1 hr 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 3/4 lbs beef, shank is best,cut into small pieces
  • 2 -3 tablespoons oil
  • 2 finely chopped onions
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 tomato, peeled
  • 1 red peppers or 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 pinch caraway seed
  • salt

Recipe

  • 1 sauté the onions in heated oil.
  • 2 sprinkle with caraway seeds and salt.
  • 3 add the beef and brown well.
  • 4 lower the heat and cover.
  • 5 steam for a few minutes.
  • 6 add the paprika and mix well.
  • 7 add a little water and bring it to a boil.
  • 8 lower the heat again.
  • 9 when the meat is ¾ cooked, add the green pepper, garlic, and tomato.
